Welcome to SAGE LOCAL
Food is the ultimate connector - humans from all walks of life have gathered over meals for centuries to connect and cultivate community. We are no different today. We're your bridge to highly curated, unforgettable events, workshops, and gatherings to fill the desire for real life connection.
Sage Local is the lovechild of a passion for small-scale organic farming and connection over a beautiful meal. Everything we do is focused around supporting small local farmers, connecting folks to where their food comes from, and embracing eating with the seasons.
We aim to make the world we live in a better place and work closely with sustainability partners and non-profits such as LA Compost - donating our food scraps - over 250 lbs to date!
About our Founder
Sage Local was founded by Lainie Clary, a chef with deep roots in both cooking and farming. Her first garden in high school sparked her love for nutrition and growing food. While she pursued her degree in Public Health Education, she simultaneously ran her first food business - making and delivering brunch to college students.
After coordinating nutrition programs at the Foodbank, building out a food truck in Washington D.C, and working in restaurant tech sales, Lainie went on to coordinate farmers markets in Boston and for one of California’s most well-known regenerative farms, Apricot Lane Farms. There she worked closely with growers and producers and developed a deep respect for eating seasonally and sourcing with integrity.
Through years of hands-on experience in kitchens, markets, and fields, Lainie has developed a rare fluency in both food preparation and food systems. Her cooking is ingredient-forward, nutrition-conscious, and rooted in techniques learned from her travels, with a focus on meals that feel nourishing, satisfying, and quietly elevated.
Sage Local is an extension of that philosophy: chef-crafted meals made with respect for the land, community, and the everyday moments they’re meant to support.
